Regular Dental Check-Ups to Maintain Your Oral Health
Smile Designers encourages regular checkups at least every six months.
Seeing your dentist twice a year is recommended because your dentist can:
– Check for problems that you might not see or feel
– Find early signs of decay
– Treat oral health problems early, while they are still manageable
During the oral exam, Dr. Duboff checks the health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue. At each visit, Dr. Duboff also checks old fillings and restorations because constant pressure from chewing, grinding, or clenching can cause them to wear away, chip, or crack.
Smoking, diabetes, pregnancy, periodontal and gum disease, poor oral hygiene and certain medical conditions are some of the many factors that we take into consideration when deciding how often you need your dental cleaning and check up.
Regular check ups will help to keep your gums and teeth healthy as well as detect any early problems such as gum disease, oral cancer and cavities.
